Adult Adoptees: Identity & Healing

Adult Adoptees: Identity & Healing

Blisss healing is a place for adult adoptees exploring identity, belonging, and grief. As an adoptee myself, I understand the nuanced emotions this journey holds. We’ll explore your story in a safe, validating space.

One of my core specialisations is working with adults who were adopted and are navigating the complex emotional experiences that can emerge later in life — often around identity, belonging, grief, or unresolved questions from the past.

It’s a lifelong experience that can resurface in unexpected ways, especially during major life transitions such as becoming a parent, losing a loved one, facing illness, or simply reflecting more deeply on your own story.

As someone who is adopted myself, you don’t have to explain everything here. I’ve lived it, and I understand the layers that often go unspoken. Adoption does not end in childhood, it is a lifelong experience that can resurface in unexpected ways. At blisss healing there is space for your adoption story.

Common themes I support clients through include:

  • Identity confusion or fragmentation
  • Grief over unknown or lost birth connections
  • Feelings of disconnection or “not fully belonging”
  • Complex loyalty dynamics between adoptive and birth families
  • Anger, abandonment wounds, or emotional numbness
  • Reclaiming a personal narrative and sense of wholeness
